KINSTON, N.C. — The Catawba Valley Community College baseball team wrapped up its 2026 season Sunday at the Region 10 Tournament at Grainger Park, going 1-2 over the final two days of the double-elimination event after opening the tournament with a win on Friday.

Catawba Valley fell 11-7 to the Dolphins on Saturday despite recording nine hits. Jacob Krebs led the offense with a home run and two RBIs, while Tanner Brewer added a pair of hits and drove in two runs. Brady Byler also contributed two RBIs.
Facing elimination Sunday afternoon, Catawba Valley responded with a gritty 9-7 victory against Lenoir. The Red Hawks pounded out 15 hits led by Pierce Bouwman's four-hit, three-RBI performance. Alex Robinson delivered a key swing with a home run and four RBIs, while Brady Byler added three hits and scored three runs.
On the mound, Braiden Moore provided a strong relief effort, earning the win after tossing five innings and allowing just two runs. His outing helped stabilize the game after a back-and-forth start and sent CVCC into Sunday night's elimination contest against Cleveland.
In the nightcap, however, the Red Hawks dropped a 7-3 decision to the Yetis to end their season. Catawba Valley was limited to five hits with Brady Byler collecting two hits and driving in two runs.
