HICKORY, N.C. — The Catawba Valley Community College men's basketball team improved to 2-0 in Region 10 play on Saturday with an 81-78 victory on the road against Central Carolina.

Joseph Durant led the Red Hawks (4-4, 2-0 in Region 10) wth 16 points, Josh Moore added 13 and KJ Burke scored 12 points.

Catawba Valley led 45-37 at halftime led by Moore's 10 points.

Central Carolina outscored CVCC 41-36, but the Red Hawk were able to hold on for the three-point conference win.

The CVCC men's basketball team returns to the court on Wednesday, Dec. 3 for a home conference showdown with Davidson-Davie. Tip off is set for 7 p.m. at the Tarlton Complex.
