HICKORY, N.C. — The Catawba Valley Community College men's basketball team won its eighth-straight game on Saturday afternoon, defeating Johnston Community College 98-60 at the Tarlton Complex.
KJ Burke led the Red Hawks (15-10, 11-6 in Region 10) with a game-high 19 points, while Caden Caskey added 18 points. Izaiah Littlejohn (13 points), Josh Moore (13) and Trent Floystad (12) also reached double figures in scoring for CVCC.
The Red Hawks powered ahead to a 47-33 halftime lead behind 10 first-half 3-pointers, including four from Burke and three from Caskey.
CVCC would go on to extend that advantage in the second half behind 11 points from Moore and nine from Littlejohn on its way to an 11th conference win.
The Catawba Valley Community College men's basketball team returns to action on Tuesday for a road conference contest against Guilford Tech. Tip off is set for 7 p.m. in Jamestown, N.C.
